Using the Career Remote to Build a Routine That Reflects Your Current Priorities
1. Press Pause: Reflect on Your Priorities
Use the Pause button to stop and take a moment of self-reflection. Think about what truly matters to you right now in your life and career. Are you focusing on the things that align with who you are today, or are you stuck in a past mindset? What was right for you a year ago might not be a priority now.
Tip: Write down your top 3-5 priorities (e.g., career growth, health, family, personal development) as a starting point for realigning your routine.
2. Rewind: Audit Your Current Routine
Press Rewind to review how you’ve been spending your time over the last few days or weeks. Look back at your daily habits—are they supporting your current goals, or are they rooted in outdated priorities?
Tip: Track your activities for the next 3 days to see where your time is going, and reflect on whether it aligns with your true priorities.
3. Record: Identify Your Non-Negotiables
Use the Recor* button to lock in your “non-negotiables”—the daily or weekly activities that are essential for your well-being and growth. These are the foundational habits you want to keep in your routine.
Tip: Be intentional with what you record. These non-negotiables could be self-care rituals, career development actions, or family time—whatever supports your personal and professional priorities.
4.Fast Forward: Eliminate or Delegate Low-Priority Tasks
Hit Fast Forward*to skip over tasks and habits that no longer serve your current career or life stage. This could mean outsourcing, delegating, or simply cutting out time-wasting activities.
Tip: Let go of what’s holding you back. By eliminating unnecessary tasks, you can fast-track your progress toward your goals.
5. Play: Create a New Routine and Test It
Press Play to implement your new routine. Start integrating your non-negotiables and leave space for flexibility and adjustments. The Play button symbolises taking action and trying out this updated routine that reflects your current priorities.
Tip: Don’t aim for perfection—aim for progress. After a week or two, reassess and adjust as needed.
